Roles and Seats

Roles

Owner

The account that has the rights to purchase Seats that are added to the Organization. This is the legal owner of the Seats. There can only be one Owner per Organization. Once you create an Organization as the Owner, you cannot create another Organization with the same KeyShot Account. As an Owner you can:

  • Create an Organization

  • Add / remove Members

  • Add / remove Admins

  • Assign / revoke / reassign Seats to Members

  • Purchase additional Seats, manage billing / payment / invoices

Admin

As an Admin you can add users with Member roles and distribute Seats. You can also assign or unassign the user role of Admin. There is a limit of two Admins per Organization. This role is ideal for companies that need an individual to distribute Seats on behalf of the Owner. As an Admin you are able to:

  • Add / remove Members

  • Add / remove Admins

  • Assign / revoke / reassign Seats to Members

Member

Both the Owner and Admin can invite Members. This role is ideal for KeyShot Studio users who require a Seat, but do not need any administrative powers. Once a Member is added to an Organization, they cannot be added to another Organization using the same KeyShot Account. Members can have personal licenses. Members can make personal purchases from the store and apply for trials and betas (note that trial / beta licenses cannot be managed via License Distribution). Members are able to:

  • Use both assigned organizational Seats and personal licenses.

  • Purchase licenses for personal use while part of an organization

  • Apply and use personal trial and beta products

Seats

A seat will grant you permission to use a Product. For example to use KeyShot Studio Professional and KeyShot Studio Web, a Member will have to be assigned 1 KeyShot Studio Professional Seat and 1 KeyShot Studio Web Seat.

KeyShot Hub has two different types of Seats:

KeyShot Hub Creator

A Creator seat comes with a full KeyShot Studio Professional license. It allows you to upload and access all your assets and scenes in the Hub directly from inside KeyShot Studio. It also grants you full editing, viewing, and sharing permissions inside the Hub.

KeyShot Hub Reviewer

A Reviewer seat is a seat to be used only in the Hub. It grants you viewing permissions, allows you to share scenes, and write comments and annotations. It also allows you to be assigned to an asset as a reviewer.
