Node locked license

When you buy a node locked license you will receive a serial code or in some cases a .lic file. You need this to activate KeyShot Studio VRon your computer.
When you launch KeyShot Studio VR the first time you will meet a Registration dialog, where you can select how you want to activate KeyShot Studio VR. This can also be triggered from the menu Help > Activate license if you var to change your the activated license.

Installing with a Serial code:

  1. Select Activate my license

  2. Select the I have a Serial Code option and press Next.

  3. Enter/update your details and press Next.

  4. Enter the serial code.

    • If you are online simply press Next and KeyShot Studio VR will create your .lic file and install it for you.

    • If your computer is not online, press Save request file and KeyShot Studio VR will generate a request file that you need to email to customersuccess@keyshot.com, The we will return a .lic file that you can install on that specific computer.

Installing with a .lic file

  1. When you receive your KeyVR.lic file, save it to your computer.

  2. Start KeyShot Studio VR and launch the Registration dialog from Help > Activate License, if it is not launched automatically.

  3. Select Activate my license

  4. Select Install a license file (*.lic) 

  5. browse to the keyVR.lic file. and press Open. If your license fails to install, check to ensure you have full permissions set on your KeyShot Studio VR resources folder.

Transferring the license to another computer

The node locked license can be activated on one computer at a time. If you need to move your license from one computer to another, you have to deactivate your license on the computer that your KeyShot Studio VR license is currently registered to. When that is done you can activate it on another computer.

Make sure you have made a note of the Serial code - You will need it to activate your license on the new machine. You can find the Serial code in in the license information dialog via Help > License information…

Deactivate your license

  1. Ensure that the machine is online.

  2. Start KeyShot Studio VR and go to Help > Deactivate License on this Computer… to deactivate the license.

  3. KeyShot Studio VR will shut down.
